From polymer to thread, now closer to you
Mortara (Italy), September 2026 — Sipol S.p.A., a company of the Tecnogi Group specialised in the polymerization of high-performance copolyesters and copolyamides, announces at Lineapelle the start-up of its new plant in Częstochowa, Poland, operational since August 2026. The announcement is made at the Milan trade fair, a global reference for the leather and footwear-components industry, where Sipol exhibits within the Tecnogi stand.
The new site is the result of a joint venture between Sipol and Yamako, a long-standing distributor of Sipol and Tecnogi products in Central and Eastern Europe. The choice of partner is not incidental: Yamako has known the product range and the regional market for years, which makes the expansion into Poland not a gamble in unfamiliar territory but the natural strengthening of an established collaboration. The plant houses extrusion lines producing hot-melt adhesives in thread form for lasting operations in footwear manufacturing.
In recent years, European footwear production has progressively shifted towards Poland, Romania and the Balkans. With the opening of Częstochowa, Sipol brings its production capacity closer to these hubs, shortening lead times and strengthening supply security for distributors and shoe manufacturers in the region — at a time when reliability of supply has become a decisive competitive factor.
“Sipol is one of very few companies in the world integrated all the way from polymerization to thread extrusion,” the company notes. This vertical integration is the core of Sipol’s competitive advantage: by combining thread sales to its global distributor network with the supply of polymer to thread producers worldwide, the company stands among the technological references of the footwear lasting sector, in terms of both know-how and market share.
The Częstochowa plant fully replicates the production lines of the Mortara headquarters, ensuring the same quality standards on the flagship range. These include the Technipol® 170 copolyesters, a thermoplastic adhesive for toe lasting operations, and the Technipol® PA 167 copolyamides, the latter containing more than 80% of raw materials from non-edible renewable resources — an increasingly relevant feature for brands pursuing sustainability goals. Sipol’s production is also distinguished by the absence of organo-tin compounds and by compliance with the main international standards (REACH, RoHS, RSL).
The initiative integrates commercially with Tecnogi S.p.A., Sipol’s reference shareholder and a leader in the production of toe puffs and counters for footwear: adhesive thread and reinforcement components, from the same integrated supply chain, to serve the complete lasting cycle. An offering that, under a single group, no other player is currently able to match with the same depth.
